Lindsay won the Barker travelling art scholarship and studied theology and art at Regent College, Canada. He also has a PhD from Griffith University and works in the School of Arts at the Australian Catholic University, Brisbane, where he is Associate Professor. His work involves practice, teaching and research in visual art. It engages the social, ethical and religious dimensions of life and includes collaborative projects with the Queensland Art Gallery and art in health. In 2012 he was a Smithsonian Scholar in Washington DC working on art from the margins projects. Over the last 20 years he has been involved in art on the margins projects in hospitals, prisons and other communities of social exclusion. The practice of art on the margins is practical theology that celebrates the worth of people and communities creating as people made in God’s image.
